Directorate (ICD) has received
numerous enquiries regarding its
review of the cases involving
the Cato Manor Organized Crime
Unit (COMCU). The enquiries
arose from the Sunday
Independent’s article
“Investigation into cop
execution squad over”, 29
January 2012. In that article,
the impression is given that the
ICD is conducting a joint
investigation with the Hawks and
that such investigation has been
completed.

for Murder : Greenwood Park

An Independent Complaints
Directorate (ICD) investigation
has resulted in the conviction
and sentencing of former Reunion
SAPS constable, Jomo Thabane
Dube (29) for murder. The former
policeman was today sentenced to
life imprisonment by the Durban
High Court for killing his then
girlfriend, the late Zodwa
Shongwe at Kenville informal
settlement on 12 March 2009.
