The Independent Complaints Directorate (ICD) wishes to confirm that it is investigating a case in which a seventeen year old detainee died in police custody at the Bethlehem Police Station on Tuesday 8 August, 2000.

The ICD has completed its investigations and is awaiting the results of a post mortem which will be carried out on Friday 11 August.

Once the results of the post mortem have been received, a report with recommendations will be submitted to the Director of Public Protections for a decision.
