The Independent Complaints Directorate (ICD) is aware of numerous media enquiries with regard to Mr. Deon Mostert who was an alleged police informer, and who was arrested in the company of two members of the Gauteng Anti-Corruption Unit around the end of 1999.

Investigations by the ICD into allegations of police complicity in acts of criminality made by Mr. Mostert are continuing and the ICD will be issuing a full statement shortly.

The fact that the allegations made by Mr. Mostert were many and varied, as well as requiring thorough and detailed investigation have contributed to the delay in finalizing this matter.
